Starting in a southern direction from Glenfield the suggested route passes Ravenglass then turns on to Corney Fell. This is a single track fell road that ascends to high level. The road is safe except in winter conditions and passing places are identifiable well ahead. There is good parking at the summit with great views and photo opportunities of the Scafell massif.
Shortly after rejoining the main road the route towards Coniston is pastoral and increasingly lovely.
The route includes Coniston, Tarn Hows and then the option to visit Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top or to drop down to take the Windermere ferry and the tourist hot spots.
