The Eskdale TRail

This is simply one of our favourites. A combination of short rail journeys with a visit to the loveliest valley, Eskdale, and an off-road cycle ride from Dalegarth to Ravenglass. Probably one of the prettiest cycle rides in the world.

It is essential to give The Ravenglass & Eskdale railway 24 hours notice if you wish to take your bikes to Dalegarth by train.

This adventure can be combined as a superb off-road cycle excursion as an advance to the Sea to Sea (C2C) cycle ride.

Timings should be considered carefully to allow exploration of upper Eskdale and enjoy the fine pubs within easy walking distance of Dalegarth.
