St Bees can be reached by car or bus but we would always recommend taking the train from Corkickle station, which is a request stop, and paying the guard a minimal amount for the few minutes journey. Regrettably this service does not run on Sundays.
The start of the walk is an half mile walk from the station at St Bees' beach.
The first part of the walk on to St Bees Head, through the lovely Fleswick Bay and on to St Bees' lighthouse follows the same route as A. Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk (voted the second best walk in the world) and enjoys views over the Solway and on to the Isle of Mann.
