Wasdale is the most spectacular valley in the Lake District and provides access to the highest land in the country. High level walks should only be undertaken with adequate protective clothing, maps, compass and reference to local weather forecasts. The weather here can change without notice and must not be taken for granted.
However, low level walks can be enjoyed in most conditions and the scenery is always stunning, particularly from the Nether Wasdale end of Wastwater.
Wasdale Head is not only a popular base to ascend England’s highest fell, Scafell Pike, but perfect for walks on to the Mosedale Horseshoe, Lingmell and Great End.
